| | Acer V173b 17-Inch LCD Monitor The Acer V173b 17-Inch LCD Monitor is a nice and portable size and the price is right! Photo Parata runs great on 1280x1024, so I highly recommend this monitor from Amazon. |
| | Linksys BEFSR81 Cable/dsl Router with 8-PT Switch There is only one network issue that needs to be resolved when setting up Photo Photo at an event, that is assigning address (IP Address) to all the computers. The standard home Internet Router has runs a service called Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol or DHCP, that does exactly that. So if you are not a computer export, please don't purchase a simply a hub or switch, purchase an actual router, such as this Linksys 8-port router. Please refer to the Photo Parata blog for details on the best way to setup the router. |
Some interesting books I have run across | | Best Business Practices for Photographers (Paperback)by John Harrington (Author)Book Description A truly successful photographic career means not only financial success, but also personal satisfaction and fulfillment. The goal of Best Business Practices for Photographers is to help you achieve success in each of these areas. This book is not a guide to taking better pictures or selling your photography. Instead, it explains how photographers can meet important business objectives. It covers the focal points of best practices - best practices in interacting with clients, best practices in negotiating contracts and licenses, and best practices in business operations. It provides a roadmap for successfully navigating these - and many other - issues facing photographers today. |
